I was born Serena Pignatari , but the Aboutboul that came through my marriage with Elliot served as a joke to sign off this profile and my posts: #aboutserena. I started to work in a big corporation in the same year as I got married. Exactly one month before. That’s when my true “multitasking life” really began: and found out early on that getting married and having a job was not enough, but I wanted also a real successful career, to be a great wife, become a mother, keep my old friends and make new ones, be a supportive daughter to my aging parents, and find space to cultivate my personal interests, passions in life, and day to day pleasures. Uff! A “complete life program” that is so common to all of us, but, in real terms, difficult to execute…
Today, many years after those ambitious youth days, I look back and see that a lot of that program did shape up: Elliot and I are happily married for 25+++ years, we have two wonderful sons, Leonardo and Rafael, my career progressed really well, we moved countries five times because of my work, and have a dog as a fifth member of the family. There were of course many road blocks along the road, but essentially an adventure that payed off. Everything is never totally rosy, but the most important is that I made it my way!
And it’s about both the rosy and darker moments that we want to talk and share in this blog. In a nice, fun and sincere way, to help us carry on with more wisdom and grace. Let’s go for it?
